Great things can happen when industries collide. The recent collaboration between Allsteel and BMW Group DesignworksUSA has resulted in the creation of a light task chair that can only be described as a really smooth ride. The office furniture manufacturer and the design firm responsible for the concept of the Mini Cooper present the “Clarity” line of seating.
Unlike other chairs that seem to compete to see which one can boast the most components, Clarity is all about singularity of purpose. The seat and back are one continuous piece of mesh. The task chair has only one lever. The ergonomics are designed to be “one size fits all” with features such as a weight-activated synchro-tilt mechanism.
At the same time, Clarity doesn’t force users into a specific mold. The chair arms are set at precisely the right height for arm comfort – without blocking the thighs if the user chooses to assume a side sitting position. Users who aren’t into mesh can add an upholstered slip cover. And, of course, you can get the chair in a broad range of colors.
